Network-wide training
HER-CARE organizes 10 network-wide events – including 4 consortium meetings, 5 training events and 1 final conference – worth a total of 10 ECTS. These events combine scientific, technical, and transferable skills. Doctoral candidates will receive ‘Certificates of Attendance’ for each event they participate.
Workshops and training events will be coupled as much as possible with consortium meetings (kick-off and annual gatherings for board appointments and consortium-wide thesis progress presentations), to minimize traveling and reduce the events’ carbon footprint. All training events will be held in person to promote teambuilding and solidify the DC’s network. The courses offered by HER-CARE will be mandatory to all DCs and, where applicable, open to other early-career researchers from the partner institutions (with the number of students subject to institutional capacity), encouraging collaboration, knowledge exchange and to increase the quality of the training programs from HER-CARE partners.
The entire network will also meet frequently via online events to foster discussions, monitor DCs progress, and evaluate project implementation measures at the consortium level. One important aspect of HER-CARE networking-wide training events is the transferable skills tutoring. All events provide DCs with a myriad of transferable skills (empowered networking, design thinking, IP management, science communication, scientific integrity), of which, one significant share (organization, management, leadership, critical thinking, negotiation, budgeting) is provided by means of peer learning and organization of events: through peer learning and organization of events.

All HER-CARE access and networking services have been carefully set up and organized by specialists. Even if these are carefully monitored for “user friendliness”, we are bound by rules and may not always be able to please everyone. Despite our best efforts, occasional issues may still occur. If you have any comments or concerns about our activities, please do not hesitate to contact the HER-CARE Project manager directly.
